Acute Care General Surgeon - West Georgia

• A leading health system in West Georgia is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Acute Care General Surgeon to join their esteemed hospital-employed Surgical Group.
• This dynamic team includes six board-certified general surgeons and four full-time Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).

Key Responsibilities

• Inpatient and Emergency Coverage: Provide comprehensive surgical care primarily for inpatient and emergency department consults at two expanding acute care hospitals (one with 181 beds and the other with 53 beds).
• ED Calls and Transfers: Handle emergency department calls, transfers, and referrals from the health system’s critical access hospitals.
• Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7 AM – 5 PM.
• Call Coverage: No weeknight call coverage responsibilities. Weekend call coverage is evenly distributed among general surgery colleagues.

Job Eligibility Requirements

• Education: M.D. or D.O. degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine.
• Licensing: Unrestricted Georgia physician license or eligibility to obtain one.
• Training: Residency trained in General Surgery; Board certified or eligible in General Surgery.
• Skills: Proven competency in general surgical procedures.
