Tidelands Health has an exciting opportunity to grow the general surgery specialty service line. We are recruiting an experienced BE/BC general surgeon. Currently, there are four surgeons and one PA. Georgetown Memorial Hospital has four newer ORs and Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet has eight ORs. A new ASC with four rooms just opened in the Market Common area of Myrtle Beach. Call will be 1:5 The surgeons will rotate between two of the three locations and cover both hospitals for full-scope, bread & butter general surgery. Our strategic plan is to have robotics in place in the next two years.

A typical week includes 2-3 days of clinic and 2-3 days doing procedures. Tidelands Health has a strong primary care base of employed and private physicians and other providers with a primary service area of nearly 320,000. Inpatient services are provided by system-employed hospitalists; full specialty support for referrals including a tertiary relationship with Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. We offer wound care and hyperbaric services in Murrells Inlet. Level 1 Trauma services from nearby Myrtle Beach medical center.
