Company History

Tidelands Health started in 1950 in Georgetown, SC and grew quickly to over 130 beds providing services in all major specialties. We grew 20+ years ago to include the newly built 125 bed hospital in Murrells Inlet, Waccamaw Community Hospital. We also added two rehab hospitals with 69 beds in two locations and then grew to our 70 clinic locations in the Myrtle Beach market. Plans now include adding a new hospital in 2028 along with several new expanded multi-specialty outpatient locations. Tidelands Health remains non-profit, and community focused with the Board of Trustees from the local area: their hearts are here, and they love to see the best possible care for their own families and friends.
