Arc Health is actively seeking skilled a Pediatric physician to join us in providing care at the Shiprock Service Unit (SRSU) in Shiprock, NM. This opportunity allows you to make a significant impact within the Navajo Nation, serving a vibrant community while working in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
About the Shiprock Service Unit (SRSU)
The Shiprock Service Unit is the largest geographical service unit within the Navajo Area Indian Health Service (NAIHS), serving a diverse population across New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah. The facility encompasses the Northern Navajo Medical Center (NNMC), a 60-bed hospital, and two health centers: Four Corners Regional Health Center and Dzilth-Na-O-Dith-Hle Health Center. NNMC provides comprehensive care, including primary care, pediatrics, labor and delivery, intensive care, family practice, urgent care, mental health, dental, and more.
Key Features of the Facility
- Level IV Trauma Center: The Emergency Department (ED) is certified as a Level IV trauma center and as "Peds Ready" by the New Mexico Emergency Medical Services for Children and the University of New Mexico Child Ready Program, ensuring excellent emergency care for pediatric patients.
- Broad Scope of Care: Inpatient and outpatient services include medical-surgical, pediatric care, intensive care, women's health, pharmacy, optometry, dental, radiology, and public health nursing.
Position Details
- Work Schedule: Outpatient and Inpatient coverage. Weekend and call coverage may apply. (Night call 2 to 4 times a month)
- Minimum Commitment: 3-month commitment preferred
- Location: Shiprock, NM
- Start Date: As soon as credentialed
Qualifications
- Pediatric Training: Board Certification in Pediatrics (or eligibility)
- Licensing: Any active and unrestricted U.S. state license and DEA required
- Experience: Must have a minimum of 3 years' experience, with a minimum of 12 months' experience in pediatric care
- Other: Active PALS, BLS, and NRP certifications, valid state driver’s license, ability to meet health requirements, pass background check, and be credentialed at the site. Clean NPDP report.
