Illinois – Orthopedic Spine Opening
- Looking for 1 ortho spine to replace 1 who left in 2022 who was very successful here. They also have a private practice neurosurgeon who has been coming there for a few years, doing only spine surgeries. He’s there 1 day a week for clinic and 1 day in the OR. They have signed one spine surgeon joining them this summer/fall after training. But, volumes support at least two spine surgeons in their service area.
- The previous employed spine surgeon had worked up to at least 90% of his practice being spine, so that is definitely possible. Their hospital system covers 10 counties and they have primary care clinics in 9 of those counties. This means direct referrals and very little competition with the nearest spine surgeon being 45 minutes north. Outreach opportunities for even more market exposure available if interested.
- Participation in general orthopedic call is required. The ortho clinic is in a building right next to the hospital/OR and is about a 2 minute walk between. General call would be 1:6 when fully staffed.
Compensation:
- $875,000 base salary guaranteed for 2 years + uncapped RVU production
- Quality bonus available upon earning base salary (adds up to $50,000 annually)
- $75,000 sign-on bonus
- $60,000 retention bonus (paid $20,000 at the end of year 1, 2 & 3)
- Relocation reimbursement
- Paid malpractice with tail
- Health, vision, dental, life, disability
- Time Off
- CME $6,000 + 5 days
- Generous retirement plan
