Southwestern Louisiana - Daytime Hospitalist

  • Direct employment by Louisiana Health System (501 C3 organization, available for PSLF)
  • BC/BE Hospitalist
  • Daytime rotation: Wednesday -Tuesday
    • 7 days on / 7 days off
  • Current Hospitalists: 10 daytime Hospitalists and 2 Nocturnists
    • Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physicians
  • Census per day split evenly among Hospitalists
  • Patient population - adult, geriatric, no pediatrics
  • ER Physicians available 24/7 for codes
  • Open ICU
  • Excellent critical care support – 24/7 coverage
  • Procedures optional
  • No vent management
  • Morning “admissionist” to allow uninterrupted rounds
  • Surge Plan with compensation
  • H1-B are eligible
  • Not able to take J-1
  • Excellent relationship with nursing and case management
