This position is a part time position for a GI doc or general surgeon or internist with extensive GI endoscopy experience.
It involves traveling to prisons to do upper and lower GI endoscopies on site. This could be 2 to 4 days per week for three weeks per month.
Physician could work one week per month or work all three weeks.
We have one endoscopist currently and we are expanding and seeking another endoscopist to help with the work load. The physician can choose how much they would like to work.
This is an ideal position for a semi retired doctor looking to do some work that pays well and has no call requirements, no follow up requirements, and no weekend work, but does require some travel that will be paid by the company.

Job Responsibilities

Endoscopist goes to the facility that the services are being provided at about 8AM the day of work and goes to the medical department and meets up with the endoscopy team, two techs and a nurse, completes 6-12 endoscopies with EMR procedure note. After the last case the physician leaves for the day and goes on to the next facility scheduled the next day, and so on.

Qualifications

GI doctor or general surgeon or internist with extensive experience in upper and lower GI endoscopy.
All staff have to pass a backround check.

Working Hours

On days that we work the procedures start at about 8 AM and the proceeds until all cases are completed. It may be five hours or up to 8 or 9 hours for a day.

Skills

Experienced and skilled in routine upper and lower GI endoscopy to include esophageal dilation for UGI and polypectomy in Lower GI cases.
