Premium Health is looking for outstanding Physician Assistant candidates for our Dermatology department.

Premium Health is a group of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) comprised of four multi-specialty sites. Our dermatology department sits at our Pediatric practice in Brooklyn, but sees patients of all ages, pediatric to geriatric. The dermatology team is made up of one Dermatologist, MAs, and Scribes. The Dermatology Physician Assistant would work alongside the Dermatologist to see patients and provide care that is to our standards: Compassionate, Agile, Respectful, and Excellent.

Ideal candidates will enjoy working on a dedicated team to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients across the lifespan for a broad variety of skin conditions, and be comfortable working in a high-volume patient setting. Patients typically present with warts, molluscum, acne, skin cancers, and infections. The Physician Assistant would also conduct skin screening examinations, perform skin biopsies and small procedures, and provide education for dermatology patients and their families.

Job Responsibilities

Obtain medical and skin related history of patients
Perform total cutaneous examination of skin, hair and nails
Exhibit proficiency in the use of dermoscopy
Perform shave/punch/excisional biopsies, as indication of suspicious skin lesions
Diagnose and develop treatment plans with the patient, involving patient's family, when appropriate
Initiate laboratory, radiology, and pathology exams, as necessary
Initiate specialty consults, when indicated
Review and follow up on incoming results/consult in a timely manner
Promote a professional, collaborative work environment with colleagues and team members

Qualifications

PA-C
Minimum 1 year experience
Surgical skills
Compassionate and willing to go above and beyond to provide treatments that meet our patients’ and their families’ unique needs
Strong teamwork ethic and positive, flexible attitude
