Job Opportunity: Nurse Practitioner – Upper Tanana Health Center, Tok and Galena, Alaska
Are you a dedicated healthcare professional ready for an adventure? This facility is seeking two APPs to join their team working at least every other month for an extended amount of time. One position is in Tok and the other is in Galena. In this role, you will provide comprehensive healthcare services to patients, collaborating closely with physicians, APPs, and other healthcare staff to deliver high-quality care.
Position Overview:

One position is in Tok and the other is in Galena. In this role, you will provide comprehensive healthcare services to patients, collaborating closely with physicians, APPs, and other healthcare staff to deliver high-quality care.
Position Overview:
- Monday - Friday position
- Up to 18 patients per day
- EHR - Cerner
- Support provided by RNs and MAs
- Galena has 1 MD and 1 PA currently, Tok has 3 APPs
- Shared Call
- Internet available but not reliable

- Collaborative Team: Work alongside a team of dedicated professionals and actively participate in clinical quality improvement initiatives, patient care planning, and emergency response when needed.
- Adventure & Culture: These villages offer an authentic Alaskan experience with access to the great outdoors, local culture, and opportunities to engage with the community. This role includes periodic village travel and telehealth support, giving you a unique chance to expand your expertise.
- Provide comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for patients across all age groups.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare staff to ensure high-quality care and positive clinical outcomes.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide leadership to support staff in delivering exceptional patient care.
- Travel periodically to village clinics and utilize telehealth when appropriate to support rural health needs.
- Educate and engage patients to actively participate in their healthcare decisions and wellness.
- Eligible for credentialing and privileging as a Nurse Practitioner at the facility
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
- ACLS, PALS and ATLS required
- Must have AK license and DEA
- 5 years minimum experience
- Strong verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment.
- Willingness to travel and work in varying conditions, including small aircraft travel and extreme weather.
