Arc Health is urgently seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife or Women's Health NP to provide exceptional, high quality care at a Great Plains Area Indian Health Service Unit in southern South Dakota. The CNM will provide outpatient services for the local American Indian/Alaska Native population.

Schedule: M-F, 8-5. Some days may be designated for evening or weekend clinic. Minimum of a 30 minute lunch break required. The provider may need to work for short periods of time beyond their respective shift hours when extra time is necessary to complete patient visits.

Location & Population:

This Great Plains Indian Health Service hospital is a 35 bed comprehensive medical/surgical hospital located in Rosebud, South Dakota. The hospital is the primary source of health care for the Rosebud Sioux (Sicangu Oyate) tribal members, in and around the Rosebud Sioux reservation. The mission of the hospital is to raise the physical, mental, social, and spiritual health of American Indians and Alaska Natives to the highest level

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and treat acute, episodic or chronic illnesses
  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations for adults
  • Participate in quality improvement/patient safety projects
  • Communicate with collaborating physicians or specialists regarding patient care

Candidates must be:

  • Committed to rural and underserved healthcare
  • Compassionate, mission-driven social medicine practitioners
  • Board-certified or board-eligible
  • Interested in joining a dynamic and potentially disruptive social healthcare enterprise
  • Must demonstrate sensitivity to cross-cultural and language differences
  • Available for a minimum 6 month assignment with the possibility of extending

Compensation:

  • $75 - $ 85/hr (additional call schedule rates are applicable)
