  • Other Details: A Level II trauma facility in Pennsylvania is seeking a part-time Urology physician (MD/DO) for 4-8 shifts per month, covering weekday/night call and weekend inpatient rounding. The typical block is Friday evening to Monday morning, with occasional weekday clinic coverage (8 AM-5 PM). Weekend duties include inpatient rounding, consults (5-8 per day), and emergency procedures, with no scheduled OR days. Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience and have BLS certification. Call responsibilities include in-house, telephone, and 30-minute response, with an average of 2 admissions per night. EMR systems used are Cerner and Epic. The provider will work solo, with support staff available. Procedures include cystoscopy, vasectomy, lithotripsy, stents, and hydroceles.

Job Responsibilities

- Provide inpatient and outpatient urology care at a Level II trauma facility.
- Perform consultations (5-8 per day), inpatient rounding, and necessary procedures.
- Manage an average of 5-15 inpatients per day, with approximately 5 admissions per day.
- Cover weekday clinic (8 AM - 5 PM) and weekend inpatient rounding; no scheduled OR days, but emergency procedures as needed.
- Handle on-call duties, including in-house and telephone calls with a 30-minute response time.

Qualifications

- MD or DO with board certification or eligibility in Urology.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a urology setting.
- Active Pennsylvania medical license (required to apply).
- BLS certification required (ACLS not needed for hospital/OR work).
- Must be local and able to drive in within 3-3.5 hours of the facility.

Working Hours

- Part-time position with 4-8 shifts per month.
- Typical coverage block: Friday evening to Monday morning.
- Clinic hours: Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM.
- Night call: 5 PM - 8 AM.
- 24-hour call: 8 AM - 8 AM.
- No clinic on weekends; inpatient rounding required.

Skills

- Strong clinical decision-making and independent practice capability.
