Job Description:

Seeking a Board-Certified Urologist for locum coverage to provide inpatient and outpatient services. This is a full-scope urology practice with a focus on both emergent inpatient calls and outpatient elective procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inpatient & Outpatient Care: Provide urology services in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
    • Manage emergent inpatient urology calls during 24-hour call coverage.
    • Conduct outpatient office visits, elective procedures, and follow-up care.
  • Clinic/Office:
    • Average 15-20 patients per day in the outpatient clinic.
    • Perform elective urological procedures in the office.
  • Surgeries:
    • Handle 1-2 emergent surgeries per day.
    • Perform 6-8 elective surgeries on designated surgery days.
  • Patient Demographics:
    • Pediatrics: 1%
    • Adults: 80%
    • Geriatrics: 19%
    • Outpatient Care: 90%
    • Inpatient Care: 10%
  • Support Staff: Medical Assistants (MAs) and Receptionist.
  • Equipment: PVR, Urolflow, disposable cystoscopes, bladder scanner.
  • Trauma Level: 2.

Shift and Call Coverage:

  • Shift Duration: 24-hour call coverage, plus 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM clinic hours.
  • Weekend Requirements: On call for 24-hour coverage on scheduled weekends (as listed above).
  • On Call: 24-hour call coverage as per schedule.

Qualifications:

  • Board Certification: Board-Certified in Urology (Required).
  • Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in urology, including inpatient and outpatient care.
  • Licensure: Active Michigan state medical license required at time of name clear.
