We are seeking a board-certified Urologist for a locums position in Urbana, Illinois. This role is perfect for those looking to provide essential urological care in an inpatient setting while enjoying flexible, sporadic work dates.

Practice Setting:

• Provide care within an inpatient medical setting, focusing on acute assessment and treatment of urological conditions.
• Collaborate with a team that includes APRN support available from 7 AM to 5 PM, along with coverage from three MDs and five APPs.
• Work alongside three partnering MDs for city call coverage, ensuring comprehensive patient care.

Schedule:

• Coverage needed for two specific periods: October 7, 2024, 7 AM to October 14, 2024, 7 AM, and December 26, 2024, 7 AM to January 1, 2025, 7 AM.
• The position involves providing critical care and interventions as needed.
• Manage an average inpatient volume of 8-10 patients per day, with 10-12 surgeries expected per call period.

Procedures and Cases:

• Handle a variety of urological cases, including stone disease, testicular torsion, urologic trauma, urinary retention, and hematuria.
• Perform procedures such as cystoscopy, ureteroscopy, and stent placement or removal.
• Address surgical complications and treat conditions like Fournier gangrene, with the ability to transfer pediatric cases if necessary.

Requirements:

• Must be board certified in Urology.
• Candidates should have an active Illinois medical license as no waiting period for licensing is available.
• Experience in managing both adult and occasional pediatric urological cases is preferred.
