Overview:

The Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center in Columbia, SC, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Urologist to join our team. As a Urologist at the VA, you will provide comprehensive urological care to our nation's veterans, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive urological care, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of urological conditions.
  • Perform surgical procedures, including minimally invasive surgeries, as necessary.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Participate in the teaching and training of medical residents and fellows.
  • Engage in clinical research and contribute to the advancement of urological care within the VA system.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care in accordance with VA policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all VA regulations and standards for quality care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer review activities.

Qualifications:

  • Medical License: Must have an unrestricted license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
  • Board Certification/Eligibility: Must be board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Urology (ABU).
  • Life Support Certification: Must be currently certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or possess equivalent certifications.
  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder.

  • Experience working in a VA or other government healthcare facility.
  • Demonstrated commitment to veteran care and a passion for serving the veteran community.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
