The Geisinger Neuroscience Institute is seeking a neuro-oncologist to join our growing practice at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. The candidate should be board eligible or board certified in Neurology with formal neuro-oncology fellowship training at a UCNS approved institution.Job Duties
The Neuro-Oncology Division is situated within the Neuroscience Institute which houses Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Psychiatry. In addition, our neuro-oncologists work closely as part of a multi-disciplinary team which includes radiation oncology, neuroradiology, neuropathology, palliative medicine, neuropsychology, and hem/oncology. Our teams see primary and metastatic CNS tumors and have a robust cancer neurology focus as well. We have weekly multi-disciplinary brain tumor and hem/oncology tumor board, and we host a weekly multi-disciplinary brain tumor clinic. Patients have options for investigator-initiated, industry funded, and collaborative clinical trials research at Geisinger. We have rotating neurology and internal medicine residents in our clinics, and various opportunities for neurology resident teaching and evaluation. Neuro-Oncology has a consultation service and a variety of support staff from physician extenders, an RN coordinator, nurses and clinical scheduling as well as administrative support staff. Our collaborative team of doctors are looking for another neuro-oncologist who is a dedicated patient advocate, and is motivated to build on our current standards through clinical innovation to improve patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes.
