Los Angeles General Medical Center is the cornerstone of the safety-net for the largest county in the United States. The Department of Urology at Los Angeles General Medical Center is seeking clinical faculty to join the team. In addition to clinical services, these physicians will be involved in trainee education, clinical research, and improving the delivery of care. Job Responsibilities

About the Division of Urology

Urology at LA General Medical Center is exceptionally busy with 700 surgeries annually. The inpatient service is modest in scale, but the clinics are high volume (12,000 visits/year) with diverse and highly acute clinical problems and co-morbidities, making it an excellent teaching venue for students, residents, and fellows. Surgeons see a comprehensive range of conditions, from kidney stones to various urological cancers and urinary dysfunctions, and surgical specialization encompasses advanced robotic and laparoscopic procedures, bladder reconstruction, and treatments for various urological ailments. Clinics are housed in the new, state-of-the-art LA General Hospital, which equipped with the latest technologies for the diagnosis and treatment of all urologic conditions. Recognized by US News and World Report, Urology at LA General Medical Center ranks among the nation's best.

Reporting Relationship: Will report to Service Chief of Urology

Annual Pay Range: $337,495 – 452,459

Qualifications

• Candidates must have an MD, DO or equivalent degree
• ACGME accredited Urology residency program and must be certified or in process for eligibility for certification by the American Board or Urology (ABU)
• Treatment for Kidney, bladder, prostate, kidney stones, ED and male reproductive organs
• Fellowship trained is preferred, but not required
• Successful candidates must have experience and excellence in general urology or a recognized urological subspecialty and have a desire to work in a high-acuity, Level 1 trauma center
• Extremely busy Operating Room and Outpatient service
• Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California
• Desire to practice at the nations’ largest teaching hospitals at a single site, which is conveniently located on a medical campus adjacent to downtown Los Angeles
• Desire for a rich clinical experience derived from the tremendous variety in pathology
• Passion for providing high quality clinical patient care to an underserved population
• Passion to teach and work with fellows, residents, and medical students
• Interest in participating in scholarly activities
• Opportunities to participate in multidisciplinary conferences, quality initiatives, and hospital committees
