South Florida - Neurohospitalist Job Opening ~ Palm Beach County Area Clinical Role:
    • Seeking a Board Certified or board eligible Neurologist by the ABPN
    • Must possess a MD or DO
    • Must have Florida medical license or licensure eligibility from another state, and able to get FL license upon accepting position
    • Must have previous experience with inpatient neurology, stroke, and ICU neurology, including management of diverse, complex neurologic conditions
    • Preferred qualifications include:
      • Fellowship training in a Neurohospitalist program or Vascular Neurology
      • Board certification or eligibility in Vascular Neurology and/or Neurocritical Care
      • Strong organizational skills
      • Ability to demonstrate strong communication skills to work collaboratively with other disciplines, specialties, and neurological subspecialties.
    • This is a hospital employed role
    • Primary responsibilities include management of the inpatient general neurology wards, consult program seeing an average of 25-30 patients per day
    • Experience with inpatient and ICU neurology including management of diverse, complex neurologic conditions
    • Schedule:
      • 24 hours shifts
      • 7on/7off
      • 7am-5:30pm + Afterhours call
    • Call Responsibilities: (Scheduled during work block)
      • 24/7
      • Phone call
      • Tele-Stroke call (P.M. through Emery)
      • Return to hospital for any urgent situations (Rare)
    • Remote capabilities for after- hours work- ability to open charts, document and look at films remotely
    • Typical daily census: 25-30 patients per day during season
    • Procedures:
      • Read EEGs
      • Lumbar Punctures
    • Group size: Join 3 other Neurologists
    • Neurohospitalist will be required to teach medical students, residents, and fellows on bedside rounds, establish performance/quality improvement initiatives, develop research and creative work; and provide public service
    • EMR: Cerner (Cerner Millennium upgrade August 2024)
