South Florida - Neurohospitalist Job Opening ~ Palm Beach County Area
Clinical Role:
-
- Seeking a Board Certified or board eligible Neurologist by the ABPN
- Must possess a MD or DO
- Must have Florida medical license or licensure eligibility from another state, and able to get FL license upon accepting position
- Must have previous experience with inpatient neurology, stroke, and ICU neurology, including management of diverse, complex neurologic conditions
- Preferred qualifications include:
- Fellowship training in a Neurohospitalist program or Vascular Neurology
- Board certification or eligibility in Vascular Neurology and/or Neurocritical Care
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to demonstrate strong communication skills to work collaboratively with other disciplines, specialties, and neurological subspecialties.
- This is a hospital employed role
- Primary responsibilities include management of the inpatient general neurology wards, consult program seeing an average of 25-30 patients per day
- Experience with inpatient and ICU neurology including management of diverse, complex neurologic conditions
- Schedule:
- 24 hours shifts
- 7on/7off
- 7am-5:30pm + Afterhours call
- Call Responsibilities: (Scheduled during work block)
- 24/7
- Phone call
- Tele-Stroke call (P.M. through Emery)
- Return to hospital for any urgent situations (Rare)
- Remote capabilities for after- hours work- ability to open charts, document and look at films remotely
- Typical daily census: 25-30 patients per day during season
- Procedures:
- Read EEGs
- Lumbar Punctures
- Group size: Join 3 other Neurologists
- Neurohospitalist will be required to teach medical students, residents, and fellows on bedside rounds, establish performance/quality improvement initiatives, develop research and creative work; and provide public service
- EMR: Cerner (Cerner Millennium upgrade August 2024)
