A healthcare system on Long Island is currently seeking an experienced, licensed Urologist to join their team in Suffolk County as their new Chief of Urology.
Responsibilities:
The Chief of Urology will:
- Provide leadership and direction to the urology department, ensuring that it aligns with the overall goals and mission of the healthcare institution
- Supervise and coordinate the clinical activities of urologists and other medical staff within the department
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care in accordance with established protocols and standards
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the urology department, considering advancements in urologic care, technology, and patient needs
- Manage the financial aspects of the urology department, including budgeting, resource allocation, and cost control
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of urologic services, identifying areas for improvement and implementing measures to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction
- Oversee educational programs for residents, medical students, and other healthcare professionals within the urology department
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards of care
- Conduct regular performance evaluations for urology department staff, providing feedback and facilitating professional development
- Develop and implement plans for handling urologic emergencies, ensuring the department is prepared to respond effectively
Qualifications:
- Licensed to practice medicine in the State of New York
- Board Certified in Urology
Desired Skills:
- 3+ years of Urology experience
- Previous experience in a Leadership and/or Supervisory role
