We are seeking a qualified and experienced Neurology Physician for a locum tenens position in Mason City, IA. This role involves providing comprehensive neurological care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with a flexible schedule and non-burdensome call requirements. This position follows a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off schedule, operating from Sunday to Saturday. The typical workday spans 10 hours, with the potential for 9-hour days to be determined. The standard shift timing is from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. On call responsibilities are designed to be non-burdensome. The physician will cover inpatient and emergency department neurology call from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The inpatient service is not overwhelmingly busy. Mornings will be dedicated to new consults and rounding, with time allocated at the end of the day to address additional requests before the shift concludes at 5:00 PM. On average, the physician will handle 2-3 new consults and 4-5 follow-up visits daily. The afternoon will involve an outpatient clinic from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, during which the physician will see a combination of new consults, post-hospital visits, and established patients with acute needs.
Qualifications:
- Board Eligible (with the requirement to become Board Certified within 3 years of eligibility) or Board Certified in Neurology
- Active Iowa state medical license or eligibility for the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
- DEA certification
