The Community:

Columbus, Ohio, was named by Money Magazine as one of the “6 Best Big Cities” in the US. National Geographic says that Columbus is “in the midst of a cultural renaissance that’s drawing visitors and transplants alike.”

Ohio State University brings Big Ten sports and cultural performances of all kinds. Columbus hosts two major league professional sports teams: the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League and the Columbus Crew Soccer League.

Columbus is the home of many renowned performing arts institutions, including the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, Opera Columbus, BalletMet Columbus, the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra, CATCO, Columbus Children's Theatre, Shadowbox Cabaret and the Columbus Jazz Orchestra. Throughout the summer, the Actors' Theatre of Columbus offers free performances of Shakespearean plays in an open-air amphitheater in Schiller Park in historic German Village.

Columbus’s beauty is the result of generations of forward-thinking residents devoted to restoration and planning. Along the Scioto River, 175 acres of parkland link together boulevards, bikeways and pedestrian paths that connect the concert and sports venues of the Arena District to the Whittier Peninsula. Safe streets provide easy travel between the city’s attractions, such as the interactive exhibits and planetarium of the COSI science center and the paintings and sculpture garden of the Columbus Museum of Art. From festivals to sports to parks to restaurants, Columbus provides the perfect setting for the career and lifestyle you have always envisioned.
