Job Description
We are seeking a board-certified vascular surgeon for a locum tenens opportunity. This role focuses on providing specialized surgical care in an inpatient setting, primarily covering call-only responsibilities for unassigned patients.
This temporary position includes select open dates from February , 2025 , with potential for ongoing assignments. The facility prefers local candidates for ease of scheduling.
- Provide vascular surgical consultations and emergency care as part of the call team.
- Manage inpatient vascular cases with support from in-house general surgery PAs and hospitalists.
- Perform necessary procedures, including:
- Aneurysm repairs
- Peripheral arterial bypass
- Vascular access device placement
- Collaborate with ICU and hospitalist teams as a consultant for complex inpatient cases.
- Use the Cerner EMR system to document patient encounters.
Job Responsibilities

Qualifications
Active Massachusetts medical license is required.
Fellowship training in vascular surgery is preferred.
BLS certification is required.
Clean credentialing history for expedited onboarding is strongly preferred.

On-call schedule includes beeper response and inpatient consultations.
Average patients per shift: 0-3.
Skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to manage high-acuity cases with efficiency and composure.
Familiarity with Cerner EMR is a plus.
