Vascular Surgery Opportunity - Columbia, MO

Adding a Vascular Surgeon to a 392-bed hospital in Columbia, MO. The incoming physician will practice in one of Healthgrades Top 100 Best Hospitals in America! This is a tremendous opportunity for a vascular surgeon to mold and shape their practice with room to grow.
  • Single hospital location including outpatient offices and inpatient setting on one campus
  • 1:3 vascular call - No vascular trauma call and no General Surgery call
  • Supported by a team of experienced nurses including experienced vascular first assists for surgery and 1:1 ratio of surgeons to RNs for clinic and operating room
  • In-office, outpatient vascular lab with experienced vascular ultrasonographer allows you to direct and read own studies on the same day as patient clinic appointments
  • Strong relationship with the hospital-based IAC-accredited vascular lab where the group reads studies on a rotating basis
  • One APP with strong background in vascular in both office and OR settings
  • Experienced OR team with hybrid room capabilities
  • ICU support familiar with vascular and cardiovascular post-operative patients and emergencies
  • Volume immediately available with range of cases including PAD, carotid disease, aortic pathology, dialysis access, venous disease, and spine exposures
  • Level One Stroke Center

Overview
Job Summary:
Responsible for ensuring optimal care of patients admitted to assigned service. Maintains status as a Board Certified/Eligible Physician (Internal Medicine) who works with the private attending staff and nursing staff.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Manages the medical care of assigned patients.
  • Collaborates with patients, families, and members of the health care team to ensure excellent clinical outcomes.
  • Performs and documents histories and physicals in the patient’s medical record as required by hospital by-laws.
  • Supervises and instructs medical students and residents assigned to service. Assists in the learning needs of residents and students as assessed.
  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs Other Responsibilities as Assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Degree: Doctorate
  • Experience: 2-5 years
  • Supervisor Experience: None required.
  • Licenses & Certification: Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Drug Enforcement Agency, Int Med Residency/Bd Eligible, BNDD- applicable state.
