A leading healthcare institution located in South Carolina is currently seeking a qualified Locum Trauma Surgeon. The ideal candidate will be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Surgical Critical Care and General Surgery, with the necessary licensures and registrations in South Carolina.

Qualifications:

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Surgical Critical Care and General Surgery.
  • Active South Carolina Medical License, South Carolina Controlled Substance Registration, and DEA registered in SC.
  • Must have an active South Carolina CSR to be considered for this role.
  • Experience in both adult and pediatric trauma (ages 8-15) required.
  • Comfortable with a busy and fast-paced Level 2 trauma center (operating at a Level 1 capacity).

Job Details:

  • Monday – Sunday stretches (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
  • No call required.
  • The day services are divided into Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, and Acute Care Surgery. The locum provider will be assigned to Trauma or Surgical Critical Care.
  • Dedicated APP support for each service.
  • Facility offers all service lines and subspecialties
  • EMR: EPIC.

Procedures:

  • Predominantly blunt trauma, penetrating trauma, emergent procedures with general surgery
  • Some ICU bedside procedures (tracheotomy, PEG tube, chest tube, etc.)
  • Surgical volume varies, but averages around 5-10 operations/week
