The Charleston Area Medical Center Institute for Academic Medicine is seeking a Trauma Surgeon for a fulltime academic associate level position in the Department of Surgery, Trauma, Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery Section at General Hospital located in the capital city of Charleston, West Virginia. The successful candidate will provide Trauma surgery services in our academic healthcare institution and provide educational opportunities for medical students and residents and will be joining a trauma surgery group at an ACS verified Level One Center with approximately 3,000 cases per year. Scholarly activities are highly encouraged.

Job Requirements by the time of appointment are:

  • MD, DO degree or foreign equivalent degree from an accredited program
  • Board certification or board eligibility by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery and board certification or board eligibility in trauma/surgical critical care required.
  • Possess aptitude and passion for educating residents and medical students
  • Willingness to participate in appropriate academic, clinical research or other scholarly activity as may be required of clinical faculty
  • Eligible for WV Medical License
  • Minimum 5 year's experience
