Position Details:
Role: Thoracic Surgery (MD/DO)
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Job Type: Permanent
Schedule: Monday to Friday (days) with weekend call rotation
Call: Shared call with colleagues\
Key Responsibilities:
Perform thoracic surgeries, including procedures related to the lungs, esophagus, and heart
Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including oncologists, pulmonologists, and cardiologists
Manage emergency surgeries and provide high-quality care during the call rotation
Conduct patient assessments, provide detailed explanations of treatment plans, and ensure comprehensive follow-up care
Educate patients on surgical procedures and recovery plans
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with hospital protocols
Qualifications:
MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school
Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Thoracic Surgery
Active Ohio medical license (or ability to obtain)
Experience with thoracic procedures including lung resection, esophageal surgery, and cardiothoracic operations
ACLS/BLS certifications
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with medical teams
Ability to manage emergency situations and work in a fast-paced environment
