The Department of Surgery at Creighton University Medical Center CHI Health is recruiting an academic Thoracic Surgeon to join our vibrant program and expand our clinical, research, and educational activities.

The busy Thoracic Surgery program is part of an integrated, multispecialty system committed to the highest quality outcomes. The Section of Pulmonary Medicine is ranked as one of the nation’s highest quality and is an award winning program. The cancer center boasts the busiest medical and radiation oncologists in the region with a high level of expertise and a busy clinical trial portfolio. The Thoracic program also collaborates with a regional, high volume gastroenterology group boasting a strong community outreach thereby establishing the program as a regional center of excellence.

As a busy academic institution, Creighton University Medical Center CHI Health boasts a number of additional opportunities including the opportunity to conduct research in collaboration with scientists within Common Spirit and Creighton University School of Medicine

The Thoracic Surgery Division as a busy part of the Department of Surgery integrates residents, medical students and undergraduates in a rich teaching environment.

The ideal candidate will be board certified or eligible in thoracic surgery with clinical experience in the management of thoracic diseases and minimally invasive surgery and/or robotic assisted surgery. In addition, the candidate should have a strong academic interest with a desire to educate and participate in research.

Responsibilities
  • Patient Care:
    • Diagnose and treat various medical conditions.

    • Participate in quality audits to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Continuous Learning:
    • Stay abreast of medical advancements and best practices.
    • Participate in ongoing medical education and training.
    • Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and guidelines.

Qualifications

  • American Board Certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty
  • A valid and unrestricted state medical license or license-eligible


Pay Range
$288.00 - $300.00 /hour
