Saint Joseph’s Health is seeking a dedicated Board certified/eligible in Thoracic Surgery to join our team and serve a culturally and clinically diverse patient population. Located ~10 miles from New York City, our facilities are in a vibrant region known for its highly rated K-12 school systems, numerous colleges and universities, and many family-friendly and cultural activities.
We are looking for a full-time Thoracic Surgeon to provide comprehensive care to adult patients. This role includes opportunities for research and teaching, with multiple practice locations including Paterson, Wayne, Saddle Brook and Totowa.
Job Responsibilities
- Triage and care for Thoracic surgery patients.
- Comfortable supporting cardiac procedures.
- Manage the pre-operative, operative, and post-operative care of patients.
- Participate in medical education of residents, medical students, nursing and ancillary services on thoracic surgery quality standard practices and procedures.
- Interact with surgical and consulting physicians, outside departments, nursing and ancillary personnel to improve patient care.
- Provide on call and/or clinic coverage as requested by the Division Chief.
- Maintain necessary and appropriate documentation for all services provided in compliance with regulatory and hospital policies.
- Participate in scholarly activity and research.
- Perform administrative duties as directed by the Chairman of the Department of Surgery.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chairman of the Department of Surgery.
