This large regional medical center in Tallahassee, FL, in conjunction with a local physician group, is seeking a BC/BE Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join an existing team of physicians. As one of our anchor services, we are looking to bring on a fifth Cardiothoracic Surgeon to help us grow our Integrated Cardiovascular Service Line and further strengthen our growing Quaternary care program.
The ideal candidate would be an established physician with experience and interest in adult cardiac, thoracic surgery, minimally invasive robotic techniques and the knowledge and interest to work on the arch. The ability to provide vascular services, TAVR and/or Endovascular services would be a plus. This position will also be open to current and recent Fellows.
The scope of practice currently includes all aspects of Adult Cardiac Surgery, On and Off-Pump CABG, Mitral Repair, an active TAVR program, arrhythmia surgery, as well as endovascular and open aortic surgery including dissection repair. A broad spectrum of thoracic surgical procedures are performed including minimally invasive lung resections, transhiatal esophagectomy, and complex anti-reflux procedures.
• Practice, ER and Hospital Call: 1:4
• The practice is open M-F from 8-5.
• Current schedule is 1 day per week in clinic and 4 days in the OR while managing in-patients each day.
Benefits of private/multi-specialty practice with partnership with the medical center through Professional Service Agreement and exclusive cardiology contract. Current composition includes
• 5 Interventional Cardiologists
• 8 Non-invasive/imaging Cardiologists
• 4 Electrophysiologists
• 4 Cardiothoracic surgeons
• 11 Internal Medicine/Family Medicine physicians
• 1 Vascular Surgeon
Tallahassee offers a distinct culture and community with access to some of the world's greatest beaches. The capital city, Tallahassee is a hub of political activity and home to universities, research institutes and some of Florida's most pristine nature. Often described as "The Other Florida" with its deep-rooted history, rolling hills, mild climate, southern-style hospitality, and canopy roads of moss-draped oaks.
Tallahassee is a medium-sized city where the power of state government and a vibrant academic and artistic community are complemented by old-fashioned charm. Tallahassee is in the central northwest panhandle region of Florida, 30 minutes north of the Gulf of Mexico and 30 minutes south of Thomasville Georgia. This region marks the center of the eight-county “Big-Bend” area.
Tallahassee is a great place to live and a better place to practice!
