A Level 2 Trauma Center in Indiana, is seeking two board-certified Plastic Surgeons to fill long-term vacancies. This is a locum-to-perm position with an immediate start. The role involves providing inpatient care with a focus on plastic surgery, Burn care, and general surgery. This opportunity offers competitive compensation and the potential for a permanent position.

  • Provide specialized care in plastic surgery, burn surgery, and general surgery.
  • Perform a variety of procedures, including breast reconstruction, hand surgery, trauma surgeries, and microsurgery.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Cerner EMR system.
  • Participate in scheduled clinical hours and in-house call coverage with a 30-minute call response time.

Job Responsibilities

Provide specialized care in plastic surgery, burn surgery, and general surgery.
Perform a variety of procedures, including breast reconstruction, hand surgery, trauma surgeries, and microsurgery.

Qualifications

Board Certification: Must be board certified in Plastic Surgery or General Surgery.
Certifications:
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
BLS (Basic Life Support)
License: Must have an active Indiana medical license.
Experience: Proven expertise in the listed procedures and specialties.
Education: MD degree with relevant residency/fellowship training.

Working Hours

Coverage Type: Scheduled clinical hours plus call.
Call Type: In-house call with an average response time of 30 minutes.
Schedule:
1-2 weeks of coverage per month (dates to be determined based on availability).

Skills

Proficiency in advanced surgical techniques, including laparoscopic and reconstructive procedures.
Expertise in plastic surgery skills such as facial reconstruction, breast surgery, and wound care.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with staff and patients.
Familiarity with the Cerner EMR system is preferred.
