Rate:

  • On-Call Rate: $4,000 per 24 hours (includes 8 hours gratis)
  • Call Back Rate: $400 per hour (after gratis hours)

Job Description:
Seeking a Board-Certified Neurosurgeon for locum coverage starting January 20, 2025. The position requires 24-hour on-call coverage for neurosurgical cases, including trauma (cranial and spine). The role includes supporting the trauma team and two local neurosurgeons with neurosurgical cases and incoming traumas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide neurosurgical coverage for both cranial and spinal cases, including trauma cases.
  • Handle surgical trauma cases (cranial and spine) in the Emergency Room (ER).
  • On-call coverage for 24 hours (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM) with weekend and night call duties every 3rd weekend and every 3rd night.
  • Collaborate with the trauma team and local neurosurgeons to manage cases.
  • Perform surgeries and assist with trauma neurosurgery cases.
  • No endovascular neurosurgery required
  • Support staff: Registered Nurses (RNs), Medical Assistants (MAs).
  • EMR: Epic.

Schedule & Availability:

  • Shifts: 24-hour on-call shifts (7 AM to 7 AM).
  • Ongoing Dates: After January, based on schedule releases, with up to 16-17 shifts per month (max 7 consecutive days per stint).

Required Qualifications:

  • Board Certification: Neurological Surgery – Required.
  • State License: Active Colorado License (or IMLC/Compact for June dates) – Required.
  • Neurosurgical Residency: Completion of Neurosurgical residency – Required.
  • Clean Malpractice & Background: Required.
  • EMR Training: Completion of Epic EMR training required before the first shift (modules and onsite training).

Additional Details:

  • Credentialing Timeframe: 60 days standard.
  • Emergency Privileges: Available after 2 weeks with clean file.
  • Hospital Type: Trauma Level I.
  • Hospital Volume: Varies; no set number.
  • Trauma Cases: Includes cranial and spine trauma.
  • Support Team: 2 local neurosurgeons, trauma team, no APP support.
