Facility in Cumberland, MD seeking Neurosurgery locums coverage

Rates: $3,000 plus $400/hr callback

Facility seeking a board-certified Neurological Surgeon to provide 24-hour trauma coverage on a flexible schedule, beginning in February 2025. This role involves covering emergency and trauma cases in a Level III Trauma Center.

Position Details:

• Shifts/Month: 10-15 shifts, 24-hour trauma coverage

• Start Date: February 3, 2025

• Typical Day: Providing trauma coverage, responding to ED and trauma cases, covering admissions (1-3 per day), and handling telephone consults with a 30-minute response time

• Average Admissions: 1-3 per shift

• Daily Patient Census: Average of 4-5 patients

• EMR System: Epic

• Trauma Level: Level III Trauma Center

Requirements:

• Board Certification in Neurological Surgery

• Active Maryland License

• BLS Certification – Required

• DEA Registration – Required

• CSR License – Required

• Minimum 3 years of experience

Additional Facility Details:

• Average Number of Calls per Night: Fewer than 5, mostly between 7 p.m. - 7 a.m.

• Consults: 1-2 over a 3-day period

• Rounding: Required on fewer than 10 patients

Facility is located near three major airports (PIT, BWI, IAD) and offers an ideal locum placement in a supportive, low-volume call environment with potential for emergency privileges turnaround in approximately 21 days.
