Start Date: 6/5/2023
Contract Length: 3 months
Shift/Schedule Details: On call for 24 hrs. 5-8 # of call-backs/24-hr shift. Call will be 10 days per month, 24 full hours each, 6a-6a or 7a-7a. Schedule varies, weekdays and weekends req. Must be at the hospital w/in 20min of call. Average number of call backs/frequency per 24 hr shift 5-8. Number of cases while on call about 1-5 per week.
Work Details: · Support staff: There is an APP available 7-5 pm, from 5 pm- 7 am the on call general surgery residents are the first call for consultations. They can also assist in the OR if they are available. If not, the scrub techs can also assist. ·
Amount of coverage needed per month: Schedule model (that is, at 10 shifts/month, how is that broken out/divided amongst the surgeons?) generally, it's 10 shifts/ month but can accommodate slightly less or only weekend coverage ·
Department description: Able to interpret ct and mri findings involving brain and spine, able to complete a consult note or progress note, able to place EVDs or ICP monitors, able to perform emergency neurosurgery procedures ·
Special procedures: Craniotomy/ craniectomy for traumatic pathology, cervical, thoracic, or lumbar spine stabilization for unstable spine fractures, other more elective cases can be taken care of by permanent staff.
Practice Setting: Hospital – Level 1 Trauma
