Locum Trauma Surgeon Position in Hartford, CT

Join a reputable healthcare facility in Hartford, Connecticut, where we are seeking a dedicated Locum Trauma Surgeon. This hospital is known for its Level 1 Trauma designation and services a diverse patient demographic primarily focusing on adults and geriatrics, with occasional care for children and adolescents. With an annual ER volume of 80,000 and a total of 617 beds, this facility is well equipped to support a busy trauma practice.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide surgical care for trauma cases, including adult and geriatric patients.
  • Perform penetrating and blunt trauma procedures.
  • Conduct chest tube insertions as needed.
  • Engage in laparoscopic procedures, such as appendectomies and cholecystectomies.
  • Collaborate effectively with OR staff and maintain patient documentation through Epic EMR.
  • Be available for weeknight and weekend calls as per the schedule.

Qualifications

  • Board Certified in Surgical Critical Care (REQUIRED).
  • Fellowship training in relevant surgical specialties (REQUIRED).
  • Active Connecticut medical license (REQUIRED).
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (REQUIRED).
  • Local candidates preferred.
  • DEA verification required at name clearance.
  • Conversion rate cap of 25k (REQUIRED).

License and Certification Requirements

  • Board Certification in Surgery - Trauma.
  • Active Connecticut medical license.
  • ACLS certification.
  • DEA confirmation.
