We are seeking a skilled and experienced Orthopedic Surgery Physician to provide locum coverage at a Level III Trauma Center in Plattsburgh, NY. This position involves covering a wide range of orthopedic trauma cases, including orthopedic/hand surgery and pediatric orthopedics. The locum physician will work with a dynamic surgical and clinic team, handling a mix of cases in both the operating room and clinic settings. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, as days will vary depending on the needs of the operating room. The Orthopedic Surgery Physician will be responsible for providing comprehensive orthopedic care, including managing trauma cases, hand surgeries, and pediatric orthopedics. This includes performing 3-5 surgical cases per day in the operating room, as well as managing 20-25 patients per day in the clinic. Typically, the schedule consists of 2 days in the operating room and 3 days in the clinic, though this may vary depending on operating room needs. The physician will collaborate with the orthopedic team to develop treatment plans and provide follow-up care, ensuring continuity of care for patients. Additionally, the physician will be required to cover 6 days of call each week, unless otherwise requested for a 7-day call schedule.

Qualifications:

• Must be comfortable managing a broad range of orthopedic trauma cases, including hand surgery and pediatrics.
• Experience in a Level III Trauma Center is highly preferred.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.
• Active NY State Medical License (or ability to obtain a temporary locum license).
• Must have at least 3-5 years of experience in orthopedic surgery.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
