Responsibilities:
- Perform surgical procedures on patients with cardiac diseases, including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repair or replacement, congenital heart defect corrections, and other complex procedures.
- Evaluate patient conditions, order diagnostic tests, review medical histories, and consult with other specialists to determine the most appropriate treatment plans.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient care and outcomes.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in cardiac surgery techniques and apply them in the clinical setting.
- Participate in research activities and contribute to the development of new treatment options.
- Educate patients and their families on surgical procedures, potential risks, and post-operative care.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- Valid state medical license or eligibility for licensure in Pennsylvania.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cardiac surgery.
- Proficient in a wide range of cardiac surgical procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Current licensure as a Cardiac Surgeon in Pennsylvania or eligibility for licensure.
- Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) or CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification (if applicable).
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal.
- Act 33 with renewal.
- Act 34 with renewal.
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal.
