We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate General Surgeon to join our growing medical team serving the Petersburg, WV and Keyser, WV areas. This is a full-time, permanent position offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of our community. The ideal candidate will be experienced in performing a wide range of general surgical procedures and have a passion for providing high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general surgical procedures, including but not limited to abdominal, gastrointestinal, endocrine, and soft tissue surgeries.
  • Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care to surgical patients.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
  • Participate in emergency on-call rotations as needed.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of patient information, surgical procedures, and follow-up care.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment options, risks, and post-surgical care.
  • Engage in continuous medical education to stay current with advancements in the field of surgery.

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board Certification or eligibility in General Surgery.
  • Valid state medical license or ability to obtain licensure in West Virginia.
  • Strong clinical and surgical skills with a commitment to patient care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in a rural or community hospital setting is a plus.
