**General Surgeon Opportunity - Whitefield, NH**
**Position Overview**
Seeking a full-time (4.0 or 4.5 days/week) general surgeon to join a team of part-time and per diem surgeons. This role offers the broad scope of practice typical for a rural, community-based surgeon.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide office-based general surgery services to patients of all ages.
- Perform initial consultations for common general surgery concerns.
- Conduct minor procedures, patient education, and diagnostic test ordering.
- Refer patients to related specialties within the system or tertiary care centers.
- Communicate with primary care providers for coordinated care.
- Perform operative (open and laparoscopic) and endoscopic procedures.
**Common Diagnoses:**
- Hernias (inguinal and umbilical)
- GERD and related symptoms
- Rectal bleeding
- Gallbladder disease
- Colon polyps or cancer screening
- Hemorrhoids
- Sebaceous cysts
- Dysphagia
- Breast conditions
- Diverticulitis
- Skin lesions, including cancers
**Qualifications**
- Active Medical License to practice Surgery in New Hampshire (or ability to obtain).
- Doctoral degree in medicine from an accredited program.
- Completed residency and internships as required by NH.
- Certified by the American Board of Surgery.
- Evidence of prescriptive privileges and DEA certification.
- Practical experience in hospital and clinic settings.
- High-level diagnostic and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and visuospatial awareness.
**Preferred:**
- 2-5 years of experience in a broad spectrum of general surgery and endoscopy.
- Experience in a small hospital or Critical Access Hospital (CAH).
- Comfort with solo coverage, rural practice settings, and limited resources.
- Interest in complementing the existing teams expertise with additional clinical interests.
