The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at UPMC Magee Women's Hospital is seeking a full-time specialist in Complex Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) in the Division of Academic Obstetrics/Gynecology. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Minimally invasive surgical team consists of 4 faculty members, support of Advanced Practice Providers in the outpatient setting and our faculty has a robust surgical practice completing 300-400 surgeries per year. Our group provides outstanding evidence- based in-office and surgical care in the local area and support patients in our surrounding communities. The department has an AAGL accredited fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery. Candidates will be expected to mentor and teach residents and fellows that routinely rotate through our service. We are seeking to hire an academic surgical gynecologist who possesses strong interest in research and clinical expertise in the following focus areas:

  • Endometriosis
  • Uterine Fibroids
  • Abnormal Uterine Bleeding
  • Pelvic Pain
  • Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery

Responsibilities

  • Surgically independent with complex MIGS procedures, including advanced endometriosis and fibroid treatment
  • Perform minimally invasive gynecological surgical procedures, including laparoscopic and robotic surgeries.
  • Conduct thorough pre- and post-op assessments of patients to determine best surgical approach.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs
  • Demonstrated interest in research
  • Commitment to education of medical students, residents and fellows
  • Ability to participate and lead activities that foster an inclusive environment for coworkers and patients

Qualifications

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a residency program in surgery or a related specialty.
  • Valid state medical license and DEA registration.
  • Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Fellowship training in Minimally Invasive Surgery.
  • Proven experience in performing minimally invasive gynecological surgeries.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
