We are seeking a skilled Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician for a locum position in Portsmouth, VA. This role requires working Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with additional on-call responsibilities that include weekends.
In this role, you will perform a range of aortic surgery procedures, including descending aortic aneurysms. You will also conduct coronary artery bypass surgeries (CABG), redo coronary revascularization (with or without heart valve surgery), arterial revascularization (using internal mammary arteries, radial artery, and gastroepiploic artery), pericardial window, tube thoracostomy, and thoracic aortic aneurysms.
Additionally, you will execute thoracic endoscopy procedures such as flexible and rigid bronchoscopy, thoracotomy lung resections and pneumonectomy, chest wall resection and reconstruction, and mediastinal surgery. Your responsibilities will also include performing vascular surgery procedures like heart valve repair/replacement surgery, heart valve replacement without surgery (CoreValve® System), and mitral valve repair.
Requirements:
· Fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Surgery is required.
· Board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
· Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
· An active Virginia medical license.
