A healthcare facility in Mooresville, NC is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate General Surgeon to join its team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in performing a variety of surgical procedures to treat a wide range of conditions and will be dedicated to providing exceptional patient care.

- On-going Locum Tenens role
- Start: November 1st
- NC License
- ACLS, BLS
- Must be board certified
- Call ratio 1/4
- Will need some weekend coverage for call only for ER. No office hours.
- EMR: Medhost
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform surgical procedures to treat various medical conditions, including but not limited to hernias, appendicitis, gallbladder disease, gastrointestinal conditions, and soft tissue tumors.
- Diagnose patient conditions using a variety of methods, such as physical examinations, medical imaging, and lab tests.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including anesthesiologists, nurses, and specialists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care.
- Educate patients and their families about the surgical process, recovery expectations, and post-surgery care.
- Participate in the on-call rotation as required.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of a General Surgery residency program.
- Board certification or board eligibility in General Surgery.
- Valid North Carolina medical license or eligibility to obtain one.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to continuing education and staying current on surgical techniques and advancements.
Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency in minimally invasive surgical techniques, including laparoscopic surgery.
- Experience with trauma or emergency surgery.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities in high-pressure situations.
