Job Overview:
A healthcare facility in Mooresville, NC is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate General Surgeon to join its team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in performing a variety of surgical procedures to treat a wide range of conditions and will be dedicated to providing exceptional patient care.

Details:
  • On-going Locum Tenens role
  • Start: November 1st
  • NC License
  • ACLS, BLS
  • Must be board certified
  • Call ratio 1/4
  • Will need some weekend coverage for call only for ER. No office hours.
  • EMR: Medhost

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform surgical procedures to treat various medical conditions, including but not limited to hernias, appendicitis, gallbladder disease, gastrointestinal conditions, and soft tissue tumors.
  • Diagnose patient conditions using a variety of methods, such as physical examinations, medical imaging, and lab tests.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including anesthesiologists, nurses, and specialists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care.
  • Educate patients and their families about the surgical process, recovery expectations, and post-surgery care.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation as required.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  • Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and standards.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of a General Surgery residency program.
  • Board certification or board eligibility in General Surgery.
  • Valid North Carolina medical license or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Commitment to continuing education and staying current on surgical techniques and advancements.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in minimally invasive surgical techniques, including laparoscopic surgery.
  • Experience with trauma or emergency surgery.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities in high-pressure situations.
