General Surgery Position in St. Johnsbury, Vermont 150 miles south of Montreal We are actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated full-time General Surgeon to join our esteemed practice in VT. Our facility boasts a collaborative and supportive environment where you will work alongside experienced providers, including 1 MD, 1 DO, and 1 PA-C. We pride ourselves on offering a comprehensive range of general surgery services within our state-of-the-art facility, conveniently located within your community. The General Surgeon will be responsible for performing various general surgical procedures, including skin lesion excisions, gall bladder removal, hernia repair, advanced laparoscopy (including colon resection), endoscopy/colonoscopy, and ideally, breast biopsies. The daily caseload typically ranges from 6-10 cases or 15-18 outpatient visits, Monday through Friday, with shared call duties (1:3). Vascular surgery is not included in this role. We pride ourselves on pioneering minimally invasive surgery techniques. Our advanced hand-assisted laparoscopic procedures, such as gall bladder and hernia repair, enable patients to resume daily activities with minimal downtime. Qualified candidates can enjoy working with a supportive team of experienced providers and staff in a collaborative environment. This primary care practice owned by a rural Critical Access Hospital. Medical center is recognized by NCQA as a Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home and is also a certified Rural Health Clinic. New physicians are supported by additional MDs/DOs, along with Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Care Coordinators, and an array of specialists.
