Schedule
- Office hours: Monday-Thursday 8a-5p and Friday 8a-4p
- these hours are for both the surgeon and NP, so the surgeon may not be in the office during all these hours
- Need 1-2 weeks per month of consistent coverage
- Call will be required, but the schedule will vary to include weeknights and weekends
Clinical Details
- Trauma Level 3
- 100% Adult
- Consults: average 3-5 per day
- Inpatient rounds: 2-5 per day
- NP does morning rounds with the locum on weekdays
- NP sees post-op patients in the office after rounds and helps with calls from the hospital during office hours
- Procedures: 10-20 per month/150-200 per year
- Mix of rounding/inpatient/clinic
- Seeing outpatients as needed, taking call, and doing emergency surgeries
- Number of beds: 263
- New Consults for: CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR (APP does these consults, however, Surgeon meets the patient), EVAR (to assist with Cardiology), Thoracotomy, VATS, CEA (preferred not required), AV Fistula Creation, Dialysis Catheters, Placement of wound vacs (APP support), Removal of Pleurx Catheters (APP support), Removal of Dialysis Catheters (APP support)
- CT/CV Surgery Locum hospital services: CT/CV emergencies, Chest Tubes, Central Lines
Requirements
- Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible (under 2 years) in Cardiothoracic or Cardiovascular Surgery
- BLS certification
- Active IA License - Highly Preferred
- or IMLC LOQ in hand
- Local candidates - Preferred
- Clean and easy-to-credential candidates - Preferred
- Procedures Required: Cardiac (open heart), thoracic (chest surgery) required. Vascular surgeries preferred but not required. Open Heart Surgeries, TAVR, Endarterectomies preferred but not required, Thoracotomies, Valve Replacement/Repairs, Chest tube placement if needed
