Key Responsibilities:
- 24hr Call Coverage
- 7a-7a
- In-House Call: NO
- Response time to be onsite is within 30 minutes.
Qualifications:
- Board-certified or board-eligible General Surgeon.
Situations when the on-call locum/PSA would be called to the hospital*:
- Request from hospitalist to consult on patient that is inpatient.
- Emergency room provider request consult.
- Request to assist another physician with emergency surgery.
Expectations of amount of time in the hospital
The average callback from the ER, Women’s Health, or ED is variable and depends on the circumstances. The below are general averages:
- consultation less than 60 minutes per patient
- Emergency Surgeries will vary depending on situation and severity of procedure being performed.
- Average time onsite would generally not exceed four to six hours in a shift.
Travel and Compensation:
- Airfare: Standard Economy Cabin Fares, one bag included. No upgrades permitted.
- Lodging: Covered and arranged for you
- Mileage: Reimbursed according to IRS mileage rates.
