Orthopedic Surgeon PA - $160k plus $10k sign-on
Coos Bay, OR

Seeking 2 or 3 full-time Physician Assistants (PAs) in the Orthopedics Department. Our Medical Center offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic and therapeutic services in addition to a great atmosphere with many growth opportunities for our employees.

- PAs are assigned to the pool of 2-3 surgeons
- Performs comprehensive and problem-focused history and physical exams, interprets and correlates laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
- Interprets and correlates subjective and objective data to formulate a differential diagnose and establish a working diagnosis.
- Formulates a treatment plan for Orthopedic problems within scope of practice. Implements therapeutic intervention for specific conditions when appropriate.
- Exercises judgment on problems requiring consultation, referral, or evaluation by the supervising Orthopedic surgeon or other health care professionals.
- Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including, but not limited to, joint and bursa aspirations, closed reduction of fractures and dislocations, injections of joints, tendons, trigger points and bursa, as well as brace, cast and splint applications.
- Assists in surgery to include but not limited to, first assist, deep and superficial tissue closures, application of appliances and any other action delegated by the surgeon. Conducts hospital rounds, writes orders, and otherwise assists the Orthopedic surgeon.

Schedule
- Full-time; Day Shift
- On call shared amongst providers
- Occasional weekends

Requirements
- Board Certified Physician Assistant (PA) - Required
- Oregon license (or willing to obtain) - Required
- Minimum of 2 years work experience as inpatient Orthopedic PA (not including training) - Strongly Preferred
