Locums – Norton, Virginia, General Surgery Opening (IMLC Accepted)
Clinical Role:

- • Coverage Dates: September 23, 2024. Ongoing until physician hired. Coverage for 10 days a month
- • Shift Schedule:
- Clinic 8am-4:30pm: Tuesday -All day, Wednesday-Afternoon clinic, Friday – Clinic until 12pm.
- Surgery: Monday, Wednesday Morning & full day Thursday
- • Call Schedule/Responsibilities: In clinic follow up and procedures, rounding and OR procedures.
- • Type of Patients/Cases: Routine General Surgery and Emergencies
- • Patients per Day/Volume: Surgery Days 8 to 10 cases, Clinic Days 8 - 15patients
- ACLS, BLS – Required
- EMR: Epic
- Support Staff: Manager, Nurse Practitioner, Clinic Staff, OR Staff
- IN OFFICE: Port Removal
- Excision and Drainage of Cysts, Lipomas, and lesions
- Foreign Body Removal
- OR:
- Lap Cholecystectomy
- Appendectomy
- Colonoscopy
- EGD
- Hernia Repairs
- Place and Remove Port-a-Cath
- Debridement’s
- Incision and remove foreign bodies
- Excision cysts, tumors and lesions
- Exploratory Laparotomy Celiotomy
- Colostomy
- Paracentesis
- Sigmoidoscopy
- Rectal Exam Under Anesthesia
- Hemorrhoidectomy
- G-Tube Placement
- Schedule: 8am - 4:30pm Surgery and Clinic
- Job Setting: Inpatient
