St. Luke's Acute Care Surgery is the largest general surgery group in Idaho, providing surgical care for Emergency General Surgery and Level III Trauma (Meridian) patients. The ACS model includes 13 surgeons and 9 Advance Practice Practioners, and the practice covers the St. Luke's medical campuses in Boise, Meridian, and Nampa. The framework for work currently includes 16 (12 hour) shifts per month, additional elective general surgery practice is an available option. The shifts are designed to provide continuity for patients, in either 4 day weekday blocks and 3 day weekend day blocks, and at times 1 week consecutively per surgeon preference. Night call is similarly distributed. APPs support the day to day routine with daily rounds, surgical assistance, and provide a high level of efficient patient care for an inpatient census as high as 25 per day. St. Luke's ACS enjoys and works to maintain tremendous physician specialty referral/consultation relationships to provide excellent surgical care to our patients. The ACS schedule provides a surgeon with an excellent quality of life via the team design. The surgical workload continues to increase with our ever growing population in Idaho. We are looking for eager, hard working, positive, highly motivated surgeons to join our team.
