Locums – Durango, Colorado, General Surgery Opening
  • Clinical Role:

    • Dates of Coverage:
      • Aug 2 (6a) - 12 (6a)
      • Ongoing Need TBD
    • Looking for general surgery locum for call coverage
    • Assignment: All Gen Surg coverage needs are 24-hr call only (6a-6a)– no clinic – will cover any inpatients that have not been discharged
    • 1 weekend (4 days) or every 5 weeks (depends on the schedule)
    • Setting: Level 3 trauma center
    • FTE: .6
    • Duties: Cover ER, inpatients and any practice issues that need to be addressed on the days s/he is on service – go to the OR for trauma/gen surg cases as indicated
    • Required Procedures: Basic call and trauma cases
    • EMR: Epic
    • Patients per Day: varies
    • Support Staff: Nurses, OR staff as needed
    • Reason for Coverage: Need to backfill for locum who needs to take 6-month break
    • Board Certified General Surgery - Required or Truly BE (0-5 years residency completion)
    • Active CO license - Required or IMLC (LOQ in hand at time of submission)
    • Residency Requirements/Fellowship in General Surgery - Required
    • Active ATLS, BLS - Required
    • Candidate must be available for any of the shifts detailed in the job description - Required
    • Candidates must detail all the shifts/stints they are able to offer to the team through December - Required
    • Active DEA - Required for credentialing (site will consider a transferred DEA, however, must keep this DEA for the duration of the assignment, not just for shifts worked)
    • Clean Malpractice/Background – Required
