Orthopedic Surgeon Pittsburgh, PA

We are seeking an Orthopedic Surgeon to join our medical practice part time in the Pittsburgh, PA area. Ideally, we are looking for a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, trained in general orthopedics, to join a vertically integrated musculoskeletal practice specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of patients injured in motor vehicle accidents and work-related injuries. Additional specialties within the practice include neurology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, internal medicine, primary care and chiropractic/physical therapy. In house services include physical therapy and chiropractic, (including aquatic therapy with land-based strengthening, work conditioning and work hardening, vestibular and cognitive therapy, and Functional Capacity Evaluations), electrodiagnostic, interventional pain management and x-rays. The paramount component of the administrative portion of the job duties is providing timely and accurate documentation/reports of the patient visits. Surgical services to our patients can be provided at local outpatient surgery centers or hospitals. We will consider an operative and non-operative Orthopedist. We are flexible in our need and can accommodate an Orthopedist looking for part time work, either one day per week or as little as one day per month.

Job Duties:

  • Quality Patient care and management
  • Recommend tests and conducts diagnostic testing to determine extent of injury and to determine appropriate treatment.
  • Oversee the patient’s diagnosis and treatment of occupational or motor vehicle injuries.
  • Prepare patients for return to work after illness or injury.
  • Perform surgery when medically necessary (if an Operative Orthopedic Surgeon)
  • We treat a high number of personal injury patients who have been injured on the job or due to the negligence of another and, therefore, the timeliness and accuracy of documentation and reports are paramount.
  • Occasionally expert testimony on behalf of the patients treated may be necessary in the case of litigation
  • Collaboration with colleagues and staff for comprehensive patient care

Requirements:
  • MD/DO from an accredited educational institution
  • Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of PA
  • Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery (general orthopedic surgeon)
  • Favorable malpractice history
  • Basic Life Support/Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
  • DEA license
Schedule:
  • Part time (flexible schedule- can accommodate one day per week, or as little as one day per month)
