Chief of General & Specialty Surgery Opportunity in Greenville, NC

ECU Health Physicians, ECU Health Medical Center, and The Department of Surgery at East Carolina University’s Brody School of Medicine, located in Greenville, North Carolina, are seeking a dynamic, academically oriented general surgeon with minimally invasive surgery training to serve as Chief of the Division of General and Specialty Surgery. The successful candidate will lead an active collaborative clinical, teaching, and research program consisting of four bariatric/general surgeons, one general surgeon and one bariatric fellow. Applicants should have an established record of academic productivity, a national presence, leadership experience in a matrixed healthcare environment, and have a broad knowledge of all aspects of complex general surgery. Individuals with MIS training and a clinical interest in a subspecialty area such as bariatric surgery, abdominal wall reconstruction/complex hernia, endocrine surgery, GI surgery including endoluminal therapy, foregut surgery, or other focus areas are encouraged to apply.

The division provides general and bariatric surgical care to an expansive geographic region consisting of 29 counties serving a population of over 1.5 million people. The metabolic surgery team has been an international leader in both clinical and basic research with continuous funding for over three decades.
