- 45 shifts per month available
- Day shift: 7am - 7pm
- Night shift: 6pm - 7am
- Nights, weekends, holidays required
- 24 hour shifts available, but not required
- Clinical Information:
- Call room available for night shift
- Support Staff:
- Daily staffing for trauma is 1 attending surgeon for floor rounding and ED call, 1 attending surgeon in the ICU, 2-3 APPs for floor rounding and ED call, and 2-3 residents across the service
- Night coverage is 1 attending surgeon for ICU, floor, ED, 1 APP for floor and ED, 2-3 residents for ICU and ED. 1-2 Trauma nurse leads support the ED, ICU, and floor 24 hours/day
- Practice EMR: Cerner Powerchart
- 35 patients per day are split between covering providers- split b/w 3 FTE's
- There is no ICU component to this job
- Trauma APPs manage trauma patients on stepdown and medsurg floors (avg. 10-15 floor patients daily), as well as traumas coming in to the Emergency department. Within that role they are responsible for the following procedures: chest tubes (both open and pigtail) as well as central lines, arterial lines, and laceration repairs
- Required:
- DEA must remain in state to maintain privileges. Provider must be willing transfer and maintain DEA in state for the duration of privileges being active, or obtain a new in state DEA to remain in state for the duration of privileges being active
- Current Flu Vaccine
- Must be fully vaccinated for Covid 19
- Exemptions only allowed for religious or medical reasons, once approved by the facility.
- Active NC License
- Required Skills: Advanced Trauma Life Support and proficiency with tube thoracostomy, central venous catheter placement
- Preferred Skills: Arterial line placement
- Must be board certified or board eligible
